Hearing directly from the students whose educational journeys scholarships support is especially meaningful. Recently, the Few Good Men Scholarship Committee received a heartfelt thank-you card from scholarship recipient Alaina Johnson, who will be attending the University of South Carolina.
In her message, Alaina expressed her gratitude for being selected and shared how the scholarship will help reduce the financial burden of tuition and college expenses. She also reflected on her future goals, including her interest in medicine and the experiences she is gaining as she continues her education. Alaina shared that the support she received means more than financial assistance—it also reminds her that others believe in her potential and want to see her succeed.
One of the most meaningful parts of her message was her hope that, one day, she will be in a position to give back and support other students in the same way. That spirit of gratitude and service reflects the scholarship program’s purpose: investing in students today so they can continue making an impact in their communities tomorrow.
Alaina is one of five deserving students receiving this year’s scholarship. We are also proud to recognize Xavier Lafayette, who will attend Denmark Technical College; Marcus Grant, who will attend the University of South Carolina; Sabrina Lafayette, who will attend Francis Marion University; and Ja’Naysa Sumter, who will attend South Carolina State University.
We congratulate Alaina, Xavier, Marcus, Sabrina, and Ja’Naysa as they continue their educational journeys. We are proud to support their goals and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the years ahead.
We invite you to join us in contributing financially to give back to the community. Donations can be made directly on the website or mailed to A Few Good Men P.O. Box:
